Firstly may I thank all the forum members who voted for my photo " The Leaving Of Liverpool" in the monthly competition for June. This has resulted in me receiving the above titled book as the prize.
The book itself is a paperback which is ok but I feel it would be better as a hardback, that said I found it packed full of old and rare photographs, art work and posters. There are many interesting facts and information about past ships in the Cunard fleet going right back to the beginning of the shipping line. As with many books on this subject I found it must have been a difficult decision by the author on what to leave in and what to remove. It does come across as a labour of love and as for myself I completely enjoyed it!

Thank you very much, Alan, for your review of the book.

As one of the people who help with the photo competition, I am always chuffed to know that prizes have been sent and received, and it is even better when we hear what the prizewinner thought of the prize.

In addition, of course, your review helps this website and is a valuable contribution to the information we are gathering here.

Thank you Isabelle,
I enjoyed having the facility to review it, albeit in a small way!
