This month's theme is "Favourite sailaways", chosen for June by harev, the winner of the March competition.

I am sure we all remember wonderful sailaways, whether we were watching from land or being part of them on board. So many aspects come to mind, and the only one that our pictures cannot do justice to, are the evocative sounds -- the blasts on the whistle, the farewell blasts from the tugs, the patriotic tunes played over the loudspeaker system and the music from the Caribbean bands. Looking forward to all the sights captured at the time!

The prize for the winner will be the Amberley publication on Cunard, a Photographic History, donated by Rob Lightbody.

The album is open -  so now is the time to look for your most interesting pictures on this theme. Wishing you fun as you search your photo collection to find three pictures to upload to the competition album:

If you have not uploaded photos to the Forum Gallery before, have a look at these instructions, and if you have any problems, just contact us at  .,2936.0.html

The deadline for submitting photos is 30 June 2014. Voting will run from 1 July 2014 until 31 July 2014.

We look forward to seeing your photos in this month's competition.

Enjoy yourselves!  :)

This should be a great topic, as it welcomes pictures taken on board and on land, on deck, on balconies and even inside. Passengers enjoying themselves, crew at work, bands playing, champagne flowing...

Looking forward to lots of evocative entries, making us want to do it all over again...

I have just uploaded my three. It was hard to make a choice, as I used to take hundreds of pictures at sailaway time -- one of the best moments on board!

I have uploaded two photos and looking for third sail away photo to enter into the competition.

Not a lot of entries for this month's competition so far but there is still plenty of time for you to look for your best three sail away photos and upload them to the competition.   :)

I had not realised that the prize on offer for this month's competition was such a special prize that is currently selling on Amazon for £18.24 with a rrp of £19.99.  This looks like a lovely book and a worthwhile addition to any book collection.

The competition is free to enter with a chance of winning an excellent prize, so why not take time to look for your favourite sail away photos and upload to the competition for a chance to win a fabulous prize.

See above for instruction on how to enter.   :)

Here is a video, sent to our Facebook page, of QE2 leaving Istanbul in May 1997. Inspiring for your photo selection perhaps?
