I managed to nab a copy of this off ebay for a surprisingly reasonable price.

On the cover, is a massive photo of QE2 entering New York harbour at the end of her maiden voyage, in colour, looking beautiful.

Inside are some superb mouthwatering colour photographs including the original Queens Room, looking simply amazing, a lovely view across the Double Up room, with light flooding in from the boat deck upstairs (something lost soon afterwards), the London Gallery and a huge photograph looking down a "boldly designed" bright red stairwell.  It says the colour was matched to nearby staterooms.  And a big lovely photo of a promenade complete with the Bertoia chairs.

The text is written by Jack Newcombe after the author made the maiden voyage crossing aboard, all about how radically different she is, and what worked and didn't, and saying that the sea felt rather far away...

I would, but I'm concerned about copyright.  I might try to contact them to ask for permission...

still learning to use site, I quoted someone instead of posting, sorry, anyways, I have the life magazine of the france's maiden voyage, had it laminated, QE2 one would be great, lots of antique stores have old issues, best place to find them, I paid like 5 bucks for france's life issue

What was left original, at the end of QE2's service life?
