Your Dream/Ideal Liner or Cunard Queen
« on: Mar 26, 2014, 09:30 PM »
I haven't found a topic like this, so I thought I would start one as I've woundered what other people would think.

If you could design a future liner or Cunard queen, what would it be like? What features would it have? Would you take features from the QE2 such as the public rooms on the upper decks intead of balconies, and the vast tiered open decks? Or how about a room like the QE2's Yacht Club or original Double Room?

Thanks, looks interesting. I have also found a topic started by Chris with some ideal QE2 Dubai deckplans: https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,3550.0/nowap.html?PHPSESSID=787443e3a4fe39b239e43fd8f4f6a493

Here is a link to the topic regarding the Project Orient liner.  Alan, for fun, put on Cunard colors and a QE2 mast and funnel.  Rather nice...

Thanks, it does look very nice in Cunard Colours. Also, Alan has done a great job in doing that!

This what I have been working on recently. I hope you like it, although it may be too 'QE2 like'.  ;D

It is a steamship, with props and a rudder (very old fashioned these days, but it worked for our QE2). Above and below the promenade/boat deck where the lifeboats are, there are sheltered balconies. If anyone is woundering, the top deck houses a 'rooftop deck', two magrodomes, and a star observation room/dome. I am unsure about the top deck and the funnel design using one as a joint mast though.
