Hopefully (yet to be confirmed) I may be joining you to watch Queen Victoria sail at half four.  :)

That would be good if you could manage to see the sail away. Let me know if you intend to join us for a meal in the evening.

I contacted Gusto and they cannot accommodate 20 people on that night either, I will try a couple of other places and if anyone has any suggestions of where we can try that can accommodate a large party please let me know .

When I came off the phone I had a thought that although the young man had said that they did not have a large table for 20 people.  I phoned back to ask if they could do two tables for 10 people on each table, which they have confirmed can be done - two tables back to back.

I have made a provisional booking for 7.30, but I would need to give a firm booking with a deposit of £5 per person within 10 days of making this booking.

Let me know if you think this if okay for our needs.

Hi Lynda - You are Fantastic!
Gusto looks to be ideal!
We can certainly manage:
Friday - Crowne Plaza drinks,
Saturday - QV and Cunard Building
and lunch and supper
(No spice please!)
Thank You for all your help
Rosie

I have had a response from the Crowne Plaza in relation to my enquiry about lunch on 31 May.  The response is that with regard to lunch on Saturday they can accommodate this in the plaza brasserie.  Chef has suggested a more simple menu choice (i.e. soup and sandwiches, baguette and wedges, pasta dish) so they can cater for our party in a timely manner.  I have checked on vegetarian options being available.

The main benefit of having lunch in the Crowne Plaza is the proximity to the Cunard Building and the port where the QV will be docked so I hope that everyone is happy with the menu choice on offer for lunch.  I will get prices and details of what service charges are applicable

The following people have confirmed for lunch, or lunch and dinner on 31 May.  I am waiting on a couple of confirmations from Dave and Gill.

1. Lynda Bradford - lunch and dinner
2. Tom Bradford   - lunch and dinner
3. Simon Claxton  - lunch and dinner
4. Rob Lightbody  - lunch and dinner
5. Paul Donnelly   - lunch and ?
6. Alan Snelson    - lunch and dinner
7. Karen Snelson – lunch and dinner
8. John Little      - lunch and dinner
9. Rosemary Little – lunch and dinner
10. Graham Taylor – lunch and dinner
11. John Lomas - lunch
12. Patricia Lomas  - lunch
13. David Templar – Awaiting response
14. Derek Ferguson - lunch
15. Sue Ellis - lunch
16. Susan Dempster – lunch and dinner
17. Sharon Whitehead – lunch and dinner
18. Gill Trueman – awaiting response
19. Rosie Claxton – lunch and dinner

Not going aboard QV, but joining us in Liverpool
* Pete cain (lunch/afternoon) - lunch
*Adam Hodson - lunch?

Hopefully if I can make it June, I will be taking lots of photos! Just a shame that it won't be our beloved QE2 in the photos.

Well, if everybody wears their QE2Story badge, she would be "in the picture" several times...  ;)

Hello all,

I've been stupidly busy with work and other things (like trying to fix my internet!) so Lynda has stepped into the breach (again) and is trying to arrange lunch/dinner for us all, and we're all very grateful aren't we!!

I've passed the passport details (thanks everybody) to Cunard tonight.

Please keep an eye on this topic for the latest news.

Just a wee update on the meal arrangements and payment details for The QE2 Story get together on 31 May

Saturday Lunch

A Sandwich Buffet lunch at a cost of £14.95 per person has been arranged in the Crowne Plaza Brasserie, at 1:30 pm after our free tour onboard Queen Victoria and our free tour of the Cunard Building.  Pre-payment of the lunch is required and I would appreciate this as soon as possible.   This is to help the Crowne Plaza cope with 20+ people appearing, all at once, on a busy Saturday.

In addition to the sandwiches there will also be a choice of three additional items:
- Lightly spiced crisp potato wedges with a sour cream & chives (V)
- Pesto rubbed salmon kebab
- Piri Piri chicken kebab

Saturday Dinner

A table for dinner has been reserved at Gusto Italian Restaurant for 7.30 pm on 31 May.  I have looked at both the set menu and the a la carte menu and feel that the a la carte menu looks like the best option, as there are a better range of choices.  There is also the option to have a smaller portion for the pasta and salad choices, which I know some people appreciate.
http://www.gustorestaurants.uk.com/pdf/main_woodfired_menu_april_14.pdf

A deposit of £5 per person is required, for dinner. I require to have your payment for this before Tuesday 6 May, so that we can firm up on this booking. You can then pay for whatever you order on the night.

Paying

Rob has set up payment options for both the lunch and for the dinner deposit.
If you wish to join us for both lunch and dinner, you need to go through both payments, separately. For each option remember to change the quantity if you are paying for more than one person.

We hope this is OK with everybody.  Its been quite tricky trying to arrange things for so many people on an already busy Saturday in Liverpool.
