For those in Liverpool on the Friday night (30 May) there will be fireworks (time TBA) on the Mersey to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the departure of Aquitania (30 May) on her Maiden Voyage and the first overnight by a Cunarder on the Mersey for almost 50 years!

Queen Victoria will arrive at 1000 hours on 30 May and sail at 1630 hours on 31 May.

Great programme, looking forward to the weekend in Liverpool. Flags will be flying!

Thanks Lynda. Other treats are planned for the Friday night as well on the Pier Head.

Brilliant, am I correct in thinking you will be on board Mr G?

Any ideas where everyone might be staying? I am planning to arrive on the Friday through to the Monday with a side trip before or after over to Belfast to see the Titanic Quarter. I'm probably going to book into the Malmaison, which is directly opposite where QV will be berthed.

On a side note, now that Cunard appears not to post up online a list of the senior officers onboard their vessels, does anybody know the whereabouts of Jacqui Hodgeson - Hotel Manager (I think she may have moved over to QE from QV), also Jonathan Leavor (Purser) and John Davies, who may be on QM2. If any of them are onboard it would be good to see them after 20 years.

Reply for Graham Taylor, sorry I can not help with the Purser's, however J. Hodgson is back on board Queen Elizabeth as of 4th December 2013 until 02nd March 2014 as far as I believe. Hope this help's a little bit.

Maybe we should have a different Topic title "Cunard officers etc..."

We are staying at the Crowne Plaza which is the nearest to the berth, 3 nights Thursday to Sunday.

Hello all,

We've had 2 cancellations - Alan and Catherine Dunipace (they send their apologies!) so there are now 2 slots available again.

Also, Sue Hoffman "SueOnOneDeck" has said she's going to be aboard QV anyway, so she'll join us on board that way.  If anyone else is going to be aboard for this voyage, please make yourself known to us beforehand so we can meet up.

Keep an eye on the first posting on this topic for the latest lists.

Hi Rob,

I have a six year old daughter who would be very happy to attend.  But, I do realise this would mean me having 3 places so am happy to wait and see if the remaining two are filled by anyone else - is that ok?

There's still a few months to go to fill the last places, and no doubt someone else will be unable to come too. We'll stick to 2 places each for now though, but your offer is noted!

I had a feeling Jacqui was now on the QE so thanks for confirming that.

Hi there,

Apologies if this comes across badly, because I struggle to keep track of who everybody on the forum is now, but the event is for existing forum members, can you tell me who Adrian is please?  As it says in the first posting on the topic, you must be known to us.

Many thanks,

- Rob

Hi Rob
Sorry about causing a problem but I logged on late last night and saw the availability for the onboard visit and jumped at the chance to grab the place for a family friend. He tells me he sent an email to join the forum on Sunday but hadn't had a confirmation. He is a keen
ship enthusiast and as he lives 15 miles or so from Liverpool often goes to see visiting ships. He would dearly love to go onboard as he has never had spare cash to sail on anything other than the Mersey ferries! Could you check that his email has been received and processed for me.?
Thanks.
