I have sent copies of some of our photos from the Queen Victoria visit to Ronnie Keir who is Chief Engineer aboard and who hosted our drinks reception. His response is below.

Alan,

What wonderful pictures, many thanks, I will share.  It was our pleasure to share Queen Victoria with you all, even for only a few hours. I’m glad you all had a nice time.

I was especially blown away with the plaque your guy commissioned for the occasion; it will be in place of honour.

It was a great day with a wonderful sail away.

Many thanks again.

Regards
Ronnie

Photos will be on their way to the gallery soon and I will be sending a copy of our group photo directly to all who attended the QV visit.

Sounds like a great event and the pictures are lovely, thanks must go to Rob and Lynda for all their time and effort.I would have loved to be involved but Saturdays are really difficult for me as I care for My Mum who has dementia, she and my late father spent many happy times on QE2.
If there is to be an event for the 3 Queens visit next year I would LOVE to be involved.

Hi Rob, Lynda and all others who made the trip on 31st May which Alan and myself had planned to go on originally.
It looks as if you all had a marvellous time and I have to confess to being more than just a wee bit envious but glad it all went off so beautifully.
We are booked to go QM2 on 2nd - 14th July 2015 when she is making the 175 anniversary of the original trip from Liverpool to Halifax. Leaving Southampton on 2nd July and then leaving Liverpool on 4th July. Just wanted to find out if any other forum members are doing the same trip?
