No that was last night although some were a bit worse for wear Isabelle. ;) It's such a shame you weren't able to come. Roll on next year and the 175th Anniversary - 3 Queens in Liverpool.

Hope you all enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to you all telling us about it when you all get home. :)

Dave, you got a 3 hour tour of queen Victoria, a champagne reception with canapes, a tour of a stunning building which is not normally open to the public by the building manager himself, and lunch with tea and coffee, and all for £15!  Incidentally the tea and coffee was paid for by me, as it didn't come with the lunch deal... after so many hours spent organising it, sorry you were disappointed by anything!

Dave, don't you think that on a special occasion a somewhat special price is fully warranted? And when else would you have the chance to have a meal with so many Forum members and not yo have to do any of the organising yourself?

Please note also that none of the charge went to or through the Forum -- indeed, as Rob points out, he paid for the drinks.

Fantastic weekend, thanks to all in the Forum for their brilliant organisation and to those in Cunard for hosting a very special guided tour and reception for the group. The tour guides were excellent and I certainly enjoyed their expert descriptions of the areas we visited. I learned that they had been brought from Southampton specially for our visit and they were returning home after they left us - much appreciated Michael - thank you. It was great to meet again Officers who had served on QE2 and meet with friends on the ship. The reception in the Commodore Club was most enjoyable and I notice we all seemed to love the selection of fine canapés and champagne!

The tour of the Cunard Building crowned a superb morning! We were privileged to have this special experience, again with such an expert guide. How many others would have longed for the opportunity to view a Cunarder on the Mersey from the Boardroom window and from under the house flag flying on the roof? One of those 'very special Cunard moments' for us all - I'm sure you would agree.

It was most enjoyable meeting old friends and new at the Crowne Plaza and at the restaurant on Saturday evening. The organised buffet lunch was great and a fine choice of delights to satisfy one's every need.

I look forward with anticipation to our next get-together.

Thank you again, Michael, Rob & Lynda.

Considering I was expecting sandwiches in the bar area for lunch and factoring in what we had experienced during the tour of ship and Cunard Building, the drinks/canapé reception and three ex-QE2 Officers taking time to be with us when I expect they could have been ashore, I was pleasantly surprised and delighted. I have had a wonderful weekend and look forward to the next.

I was unable to attend because I was in Paris ( booked before the tour was announced ) and didn't get back until late on Friday evening; I would have been prepared to pay £50 never mind £15 for all those things that were on offer...
