When QV first appeared, I used to look at pictures with quite a bit of interest and my conclusion was that she was a brown ship -- the overall colour scheme seemed to include a lot of brown and very little daylight.

These photos are beginning to make me think that there is a lot of pink too. A very different colour scheme from QE2 which, even in her later years, always had a lot of strong colours, particularly red and green (which are my personal favourites -- but that is beside the point).

I would be interested to hear from those visiting QV today, what their impressions of the overall colour scheme are.

Lovely atmosphere at the reception, and this looks like a nice cozy place.

Looks like the lunch was a great happy occasion too. Thank you, Rob, for the picture show to help us feel we were there too!

Liverpool love their Cunarders... clearly. Hotel QE2 would work here.

WOW, WOW and WOW again

We have just arrived home from our day at the gathering.

Lots of memories, thoughts and things to say so here goes;

1. Thanks to Linda, Rob and Flagship for organising and herding us around
2. Very suprised by how good QV was in the flesh.  Yes she may not be much to look at, but, the spirit of QE2 remains on board especially as a good number of QE2's crew now reside on board.  Her decor and interior fixtures and fittings also have a nice and well thoughout feel to them.  Her smaller size also adds to a much more intimate or QE2 style feel/atmosphere, as such I am now scouring the brochure to find a suitable short break cruise!
3. The Cunard building is so impressive, what a well maintained piece of history - in an odd kind of way a lot of what Cunard are trying to replicate decor wise on their ships (and were with QE2) is sitting un-used in that very building.  What a place it would have been to depart from!  The board room was really something else, just out of this world. Also the building manager allowed us onto the roof for the best view of QV and the other two graces.
4. What fantastic company we had with the rest of the forum members and their partners, Lilly was a star!

Looking forward to the next meeting and I hope you all have a very enjoyable evening tonight. Finally I hope that the heads are not too sore in the morning and the hearts not to heavy with QE2's fate tonight

We have been treated to a wonderful day thanks to Michael. I will write more when I get home. Relaxing just now and looking forward to the meal tonight.

....and yes Lilly was a star!
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank
