Nearly there - just one more day to go and I know that some of you are already making your way to Liverpool as I speak.
Looking forward to meeting up with everyone who will be joining us on Friday evening at the Crowne Plaza, which will be around 12 people. Especially looking forward to the fireworks. How generous of Cunard to put on a fabulous fireworks display for the QE2 Story get together!
Saturday visit to Queen Victoria and again I must stress that
passports are required to board Queen Victoria. It will be a busy day for us with an early start meeting in the lobby of Crowne Plaza, ready to leave at 8.30 am visiting QV, then the Cunard Building, then on to lunch at 13:30 and finishing the afternoon watching Queen Victoria sail away.
Saturday evening will round off the week-end event with an evening meal at Gusto Italian at 19:30. There will be an al la carte menu on offer and although this option offers the best range of choices for everyone there is the problem of how to calculate payment. I have had several people say that they would prefer to pay only for what they eat rather than have the full bill divided by the number of people. In order to do this we need to devise a way of everyone keeping track of what they have ordered. Myles has a lot of experience in the hotel industry and what he has suggested of noting what you order and putting the money in the pot seems like a good idea. Because we are a party of over 6 people there is a service charge of 10% on the bill.
Smart Casual is the dress code for Gusto Italian.
Quote from Myles:
Tell the server at the start you want seperate bills OR make a note of what you each have and put that into the cash pot, allow a little extra as they say for service
Looking forward to the week-end get together and I am sure we will have a lovely time.
