Please help a member to find Roger

We have had a message from one of our members, who tells a remarkable story and requests our help.

His date of birth is 22 August 1969 -- in a moment, it will be clear why this is significant.

This man only recently found out that he is the son of a man who was probably a waiter on QE2, by the name of Roger. His Mum was 17 at the time of their brief affair, and only saw him once again while she was pregnant.

Roger's family lived near the docks in Southampton and his father was possibly a Captain or a high ranking officer on board the QE2 - from a well to do family.

It seems that both father and son were probably working on board for the QE2's maiden voyage.

Our member is asking for help, as he has never met his father and wishes to do so while there may still be a chance. Is there any way in which this Roger on the maiden voyage (possibly with a father also on board) could be traced? Does anyone here remember him or have access to crew lists?

You will understand that this is very important for our member, as he is anxious to meet his father as soon as possible.

It would be wonderful if our cumulative memories here could help our member to finally find his father!
