Hi,
Just for your interest I worked on the the QE2 for this voyage and left the ship in Hong Kong prior to emigrating to Canada.  I have the same package as you and also the prices with added fuel tariff.

Welcome, Maureen! I would love to hear more and to see some photos, if you still have them.

It must have been a huge adventure to be on the maiden round the world voyage! So many ports that had never see a ship like QE2... she would have got a huge reception wherever she appeared.

The thing I remember most about the call in Yokohama is the thousands of people that came to see her. A seemingly endless line.

January is the month when the cruise ships set sail on World Cruises and it was in January 1975 when QE2 set sail for the Maiden World Cruise.  It is one thing to have the documented details in memorabilia brochures but something quite special when a forum member was a member of crew and can give you a first hand account of being onboard.

We were very fortunately when Baltaogc took time to post about the maiden call to Yokohama and other ports. Particularly interesting hear that there was an orderly line 6 persons wide queuing to look at the ship. Plus the video (that was taken at a later date) shows where the QE2 was docked for her maiden call.

Away back in 1986 The day QE2 set sail on her world cruise. Jan 15th  was the same day l booked my very first cruise for six months later June 15th . 10 days round trip to New York in a then XE grade ( cabin 4028 inside single)The fare £1185 plus port charges. and my Travel agent earned the princely sum of £110 for one phone call.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

As Cunard ships set sail this month on World Cruises, I enjoyed reading again this ex crew's account of the 1975 World Cruise
