Photo of the month competition - instructions on how to vote for your favourite photo

The theme of the May competition was "QE2's  Baked Alaska Parade" was chosen by AndyH the winner of the February competition.  Although we do not know when the tradition of having a Baked Alaska parade onboard ship started, we do know that it was enjoyed by passengers who took the opportunity to capture the event on video or by taking photos.

Forum members can vote for their favorite photo(s).  Each member has 3 votes (but please do not vote for your own photo). Voting is open to all members regardless of whether or not you submitted a photo.  Choose up to three photos you want to vote for, noting photo details, then tick the relevant boxes on the voting poll.

To make it easier for you we have posted the photos below but you can also view the photos submitted by members in the Gallery.   You will probably get a better view of the photos in the Gallery where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form and you can then click on the pictures shown, and click again, to see them in large size.

Click on the Gallery button from the forum or click on this link

You will not see the results until the voting has closed on 30 June 2013 (closing time for your time zone is indicated at the bottom of the poll), after which the winner will be announced.

Good luck everyone who entered photos and thank you to everyone for voting!

The May Photo Competition is now open for your votes.

Great thanks to all participating photographers! An impressive number of photos have been assembled here, and it is lovely to see how many people contributed to this happy collection.

I am enjoying looking at them all again -- even though we might have thought that the Baked Alaska Parade was somehow not quite right for QE2, or we might not even have liked the dessert itself, the pictures show that it was invariably a happy occasion, both for the crew and the passengers.

I wonder whether the crew also got a fair share of the Baked Alaska?

Please enjoy the pictures and appreciate those you like best by voting for them.

I am wondering... 12th picture down... the caption says last voyage to Dubai 2007; is that a typo for 2008 or was it the photographer's last visit to Dubai on QE2 in 2007?

I am ASTOUNDED at the high quality of photos submitted for what I thought would be a niche subject!

Well done everybody, and I just enjoyed voting!

Dont suppose we can give them all a vote...

Given that perhaps most of us use these autofocus cameras its great to see so many clear photos, For all that ones that lm sure we have all taken, only a few actually turn out clear !

I used to feel that the Baked Alaska Parade was a bit silly... but I always enjoyed the celebratory atmosphere and the enjoyment of the passengers who may have been "newbies".

Looking at these photos, I get a lump in my throat.  Oh how I miss it now.

I was watching a movie on television some time ago, and the music, a march that I cannot name, came on.  Boy it took me back to QE2, it was so unexpected.
