Yes!  I knew that name sounded familiar!

Costa Cruises will probably make the headlines again tomorrow morning in the papers as another of their ships has an incident "Costa Pacifica" has hit a pier in Marseille,France leaving a 8 metre/24 foot gash in her side. Costa reports no casualties to both crew and passengers, and after repairs has sailed 8 hours late to Barcelona

I departed from Sharm on the Thomson Celebration just before Costa Europa docked, it was a wild evening and so sad to see her as she was on our return. We all felt for the lost crew members, it felt very personal, especially when we were tendered ashore and passed her listing badly.
I have just completed a Caribbean cruise on board her, now renamed Thomson Dream, she is in fine shape indeed, a lovely ship.

Makes for interesting reading.

Scary if true.
However, hard to believe it took only a night to fix the ten-meter gash supposedly caused by the rock.

Given how recent it was and how full the ship was, how on earth could this be covered up?
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,

When QE2 hit the quay in Cherbourg, it only took 2 days to repair a 70' gash. That was with frame damage as well. Was above water though. 30' under water.......hard to believe!
