Think he could well be interested...Is there any way of making contact
by means other than the blog? His website too has QE2 at the header!]

I did an entry in my blog today about QE2 and thought I would share it with you all - it is tough to keep it short when there is so much to say about her!

'Ocean liner experts: What Dubai planned for Queen Elizabeth 2 was 'horrific''

'It's no secret that an effort to transform the famed Queen Elizabeth 2 into a floating hotel in Dubai appears to have been derailed -- at least for now. And maybe that's not such a bad thing, say ocean liner experts quoted this week in a lengthy story in Travel Weekly....'

'...I’ve crossed the Atlantic twice on the QE2 but the crew onboard would have shuddered to hear such a voyage called a “cruise.” To them, a cruise is one of those silly island-hopping trips where the point is shopping and passport stamp collecting. Trans-Atlantic journeys are different. Their point is to get somewhere. It’s not a cruise, it’s a crossing. Just as a tip, they also cringe when you call their majestic ship a boat....

Thank you for those memories, Avariel. I am so glad you managed to get to Fremantle and have a proper farewell moment with QE2 -- what a lovely sunny day you had, and what great photos you got!

And those last photos... so meaningful for those of us who had that opportunity...

Hello...!
Is this true?
'However in the mid 1990â??s things turned bad for the line, starting with exploding pipes on the Queen Elizabeth 2 during a journey, the reason for this came down to unfinished renovation work. This cost the company 13 million'

'The Dining Rooms offers a White Glove service, after inspiration from the last trip of the Queen Elizabeth 2'

There is l gather a tea room on the south coast run by an ex officer from QE2.
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
