Paul if you asking about the new engines in the 1986/87 rebuild you may find information you are looking for on QE2 Service Life 1980's topics board.

There are also some photos in the Gallery of a German newspaper's coverage of the rebuild.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Hi Paul,

If you take a visit to the "rmsqueenelizabeth.com" site you'll find an hour long video of the 1986 re-engining. It's pretty ropey quality, cobbled together from a selection of mid 80's home video footage and one can't fast forward, so have to sit through a fair bit of preamble before the actual yard work. Worth wasting an hour, though, to see what the Old Girl went through. From about 25 mins in it gets interesting.

There are a number of other videos alongside this one on the site, all in all a fascinating historical resource.
