For anybody who is joining, or knows anyone joining the "Saga Sapphire" tomorrow in Southampton, News just coming in, is that she is delayed until Tuesday 22nd January, she is en-route from Lisbon at the moment

They're not having much luck with their cruises at the moment!

Maybe they will realise Saga Ruby is worth keeping after all.

Maybe they will realise Saga Ruby is worth keeping after all.

Perhaps if they are dumping a ton of money in her just to get through this year, as in a new "crank" for one of her engines which is not minor work, maybe they will run her a few years more.  Selfishly thinking so I can become of age to travel on her!

I'm still nostalgic for when it was QE2, Caronia and QM2 as the fleet ;)

I prefer the QE2, Sagafjord & Vistafjord days - 3 classic liners. I won't mention the Sea Goddess I & II, damn I did.

Two thirds of the fleet will be in Southampton tomorrow with `Ruby` still sitting alongside at Berth 40, until at least the 20th FEB 2013, and `Sapphire` at 101 from 5.30 am in the morning. No news as to why she is a day late, Anybody know ??

Having been on the `Sapphire` myself today, for most of the day, I am able to answer my own question, which  was `why is she a day late`.The answer being apparently this, after leaving Lisbon, she came across a Force 12 storm, so therefore dived for port & went into Vigo, but not before literally being battered, waves 10 meter high hit her full on, causing untold damage to the boutiques & restaurants aswell as several balcony glass balastrades being smashed, I counted 5 being replaced (on the portside alone) with welded steel bars being put in place, just before she set sail this evening heading for the Caribbean (35 nights) Not too many happy pax getting off this morning.
