QE2 "Q2" Golf Clubs - Sales and valuation advice
« on: Sep 03, 2010, 12:46 AM »
One of the Putters has been for sale here for a while (few months):

Note: link not active so has been removed

(Attached pic is a screen grab from the Oxfam website)

Was tempted initially but not really sure it's my thing!

Not sure how the price relates to the original? A possible hidden gem of a bargain?
Am sure there's someone out there who could be tempted and glad to help a good cause?!  ;)

Hello to all, I am just about to purchase a set of these clubs but only require the putter , woods and possibly the sand iron.
Is anyone interested in purchasing individual irons from me? They are beautifully made by Swilken of St.Andrews who are now sadly defunct, Even if you are not a golfer they are a nice keepsake of the ship and at worst could be kept under the bed to bash burglars with. I would be looking for only £40 per club, please mail me if you are interested.

Hi there,

I have, albeit without the wooden box, a brand new, never placed set in perfect condition. It's a full set: irons, woods, putter - the lot.

I have been trying to sell for a while but haven't found the right market. Is anyone interested or know anyone who might be? I have a current offer but it's a bit low for my liking. Please could you email me today at: marcjames@me.com

If you are keen, I shall send you photos and we can take it from there.

Best, Marc

Hi,
I also have a set of these lovely clubs.
My set includes 3 woods, 9 irons and a putter and comes in it's original wooden box with all the documentation and certificate of authenticity.
I am open to reasonable offers bearing in mind the type of figures already mentioned.
I have lots more pics for anyone interested.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch.

You could try ebay, But dont be surprised if your number of people "watching" the listing goes through the roof, at the end of the day it takes only one person to buy them.

Perhaps you might be better to use the "buy it now with best offer" option and that way you will have time to perhaps review accept or decline any offers you may receive. Shipping costs are also a concern.
But if l can suggest, be prepared to accept a realistic price. Just because its QE2 and ebay, it does not mean they will go for a fortune.
However good luck, lm sure we will all watch with interest.

Moderator's edit : This was for a Club 3 Iron, with GBP 80 sought and no bid received. The club was re-advertised at the same price and again no bid was received.

I bought one of these of ebay a long time ago in the early days, and sold it the week before it was announced that QE2 was sold..
I used it as a paperweight.

I have a set of QE2's still in the original case that have never been used.  I have the certificate as well as the original brochure that came with them.  I purchased them at the factory in St. Andrews while visiting relatives in Scotland.

I would be willing to part with them if anyone is interested in this unique collectors set.
