One of the QE2's doors for sale on ebay. I often wounder where these items come from, but I suppose they were rescued from Re-fits.

On a whim, I successfully bid and won this very door late last year. However, my wife didn't take the fantastic news quite the same and so I had to let the owner know that the wifey disapproved and couldn't go through with the bid. (Sigh) ;)

What a co-incidence! Was it as expensive as it is now when you won it?

Need a new deckhouse door on Lone Gerd. Sadly it is much to wide at 37 inches. Only need 24 inch. It will probably cost as much to have a new one made!

Adam, I think the price has stayed the same though I don't quite remember now. Funny enough, at the time we also needed (still need)a new backdoor to the house we're about to move out of and rent. However, the dimensions were also off. Also interesting to note is that the new door we'll be installing before we leave costs about the same (not factoring in shipping costs from the UK to the States, as the old hatch door.

Oh,  by the way, I believe the owner had told me that the door belonged to the open area between the mast and funnel that was replaced with the penthouse suites.

Yes I read that somewhere. It said that the door came from there when they built the penthouses.

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

There is a rare QE2 1:450 model on ebay just now, showing QE2 in her post-Falklands grey colour.

Thanks to Bob Hoey for pointing it out to me.

I'd love to make it but I don't have the time, the patience, or the skill!

These came out of the Penthouse Suites with mirrors & carpets, think they were called Interlube? Any ideas or photos would be appreciated

Good to see you survived the Vote!!
Did you see that your namesake had a bit of a longer taste of England's waters for (I guess) a little longer than she might have liked!
Her 'steamy parts' weren't v pleased!
(Well spotted with the Race chair, btw -
and this post is so off topic I'm expecting excommunication at any minute now!!)

Old Photo Slides
Kodak or Kodachrome
Says in the description that it it's from 1970.

Ha ha, I've got tons of those from 1969-1979...I could be rich at £35.00 per dozen or so slides!
