Photo of the month competition - instructions on how to vote for your favourite photo

The theme of the June competition was "From Anchors to Lamps", a theme that lets members contribute photos showing their  best photos highlighting the fixtures and fittings of QE2.

With 51 wonderful photos (a record number!) submitted to this month's competition there certainly were lots of good photos taken on board QE2.

Once again we have a special prize for the winner of this competition. Forum member QE2forever has donated a prize, a QE2 poster issued in 2007 to celebrate QE2's 40th anniversary, which was available for purchase in the QE2 Bookshop only and is no longer available for sale anywhere!

See here for more details:

https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,4372.0.html

Forum members can vote for their favorite photo(s).  Each member has 3 votes (but please do not vote for your own photo).  Voting is open to all members regardless of whether or not you submitted a photo.

To make it easier for you we have posted the photos below.

But you can also view the photos submitted by members in the Gallery - where you will probably get a better view of the photos and where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form. You can then click on the pictures shown, and click again, to see them in large size.

Click on the Gallery button from the forum or click on this link :

https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=65

Choose up to three photos you want to vote for, noting photo details, then tick the relevant boxes on the voting poll.

You will not see the results until the voting has closed on 31 July 2012 (closing time for your time zone is indicated at the bottom of the poll), after which the winner will be announced.

Good luck everyone who entered photos and thank you to everyone voting!

We have a record number of photos entered for the photo competition this month 51 photos which just narrowly beats QE2 Bridge Wings 50 entries earlier this year.

So far only 13 people have voted.  Lets make this a record for the number of people voting as well  ;D so if you have not voted - vote now.

Just voted!  Standard very high as usual!  However one of them jumps out to me as one I would like to have framed and on my wall...

Phew! That was a pretty close one, Lynda!
Hope I made it in the nick of time!
Thank you, Lynda and everyone who contributed, very much for all the hard work
that this month's competition must have involved :)
QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

Now that the voting is over, might we know which it is, Rob? I have my suspicions... ;) .

My favourite was "Secure" - I think its a brilliant picture.  What was your suspicion?

I voted for that as well -- and yes, it would make a brilliant poster!

My suspicion was that you would have chosen the Queen's Room ceiling -- I was really struck by the diagonal picture, so well composed. And I know how much you like that ceiling :) .

I did vote for the ceiling, composed so well as it is, however 'secure' has that wonderful foreground, made all the better for being rusty, and a real sense of power and might to it. A picture that tells a story.
