QE2 Crew Shop
« on: Jun 10, 2012, 09:45 PM »
I have recently bought a few items on ebay that have been described as for sale only in the Crew Shop.  For example Zippo lighter, tea towel.

Where was the crew shop and what items were sold there?  Was it souvenir type items or practical items or a bit of both.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

I saw the crew shop (one of them?) Last year, near the crew mess and right next to the exit onto the bow. It fascinated me, especially since all the cunard signs and notices were still up in the area. Unfortunately it was locked up so I never saw inside.  The current crew gathered there before we all went out into the heat on deck for that lovely group photo.

Would be great to see some photos of this area when the ship was in service.

The crew shop! they sold a lot of practical things from nip glasses to beach towels, and a whole host of other things. l became friendly with one of the shoppies and was able to buy a lot of QE2 crew goodies, the price compared to the passenger shop was a giveaway!!
And then there is the stuff from the crew bar..Castaways  :-X and the Pig n Whistle

Well the cups l wont use, they are perhaps not as big as you imagine, the beach towel is too good to use, the Anniversary t shirt seems to have shrunk, and the Pig polo top l need liposuction to even attempt to get back into   ::)

When I was on board the crew shop just sold the basics, obviously an entrepreneur took over.
Nice gear!
