Ooh! It's a tad doubtful as to whether there'll be any leaves left on the trees after tonight...there's a bit of a breeze forecast, and Mary is beginning to  judder shiver as I write this in the Atlantic  Room;-)
Please to report the portholes are already covered on Deck One, and the steamer chairs  are lashed to the railings on deck 7,
Can't wait!

Thanks so much for your messages
In Halifax We saw Sir Sam, found my grandfather's great grandfather, saw pier 21 and had wonderful welcome and lunch at the Bicycle Thief with very good Worldie friends!
Only really sad problem is that the whales are hiding, maybe they know that the wind'll blow away their 'spouting'....

On one of my early crossings l went to try this bouillion thing.. it was disgusting and iv avoided it ever since

This was readily available on the colder days for passengers on board for QM2's Full World Cruise last year.
The passengers spending smaller 'segments' on board weren't able to make use of this sort of hot stock, or daily newspapers, neither were they served tea, or the offices of a special concierge - there were somewhat shadowy green and grim feelings towards those stationed with a special waiter in a cordoned off area of the Winter Garden!
Rosie - still feeling guilty!

Rosie, are you saying that unless one spends a fortune on doing the entire World Cruise one may not sample the full choice of food now?!  Nor get newspapers?!  Ye Gods...!!!

Hi Peter
Firstly - Cost! Isn't 'a fortune' a bit of a debatable term? We realise that because of an excellent travel agent, he has saved us much - our worldie, (and other travel) has cost considerably less than what many others have chosen to pay! And in many ways it was, and is still 'a fortune' for us too!
Secondly - the afternoon tea that I referred to (as well as morning coffee etc) was served in the area specially reserved for full-world cruise pax. I believe the area has since been changed  -now behind closed doors (?), as there was considerable envy shown by a few non-full worldie pax! The food was usually the same as served elsewhere.
If you did a segment of the Worldie, I don't think there would be access to the newspapers - US, UK and sometimes Australian, these were printed off daily!
Throughout our trip, the Gods looked kindly upon us, however this was certainly not the case for the people of Christchurch NZ, Japan or many other parts of the world where poverty was rife - for example, I'll never forget the queues of men (without shoes) in Cochin - waiting in a line outside the dock gates hoping for work, or the begging of people throughout China, or the children in Thailand etc etc etc. In Vietnam, children were selling their A4 paintings to tourists, the older adults in the family I visited  - none had teeth. Maybe we saw more results of extreme poverty because we weren't protected by the excursions laid on by the Company - if we had used these, they would have cost us very much more of 'the fortune' that we don't have!
The brief answer to your question is partially Yes, and the remainder is No!
Rosie - still missing the feeling of 'Being at Home'!

Just thought I'd say a quick hello from QM2. Looking forward to doing a full write up once back home! Lots of interesting comparisons which are impossible not to make!
