QE2 Story Auction to win rare Airfix QE2 Kit.

Very kindly donated by Pete Cain to help us raise forum funds.

On offer is this quite rare Airfix 1:600 kit (no longer in production) model of an almost 'as originally built' QE2, however some of these models have been modified to a later date in service.  It's up to you how you build it.  A decent 19" in length, opened, but complete with all instructions, transfers, Humbrol colour codes.  Loads of information both on the forum & out there to assist in construction of this model, looks good when assembled & painted. All you have to do is be the highest bidder, to own your own QE2 (win) .

All the cash from the winning bid goes to the forum running costs (win). It's a no brainer, so start thinking how much you think this model is worth to you & the forum you enjoy so much.

Pete will, I'm sure, answer any questions you have about his model!

Postage costs should be borne in mind especially if bidding from abroad , these have to be in addition to the bid.

Hi all, am busy at the moment cladding fascias & replacing guttering, before winter gets going also the weather at this time is kind to such activities.

I am pleased to say that we have at this stage received two bids for the Airfix QE2 model.

Both bids generously exceed the reserve which Pete had placed on his model, i.e. £ 25.

They were sent to the Forum's Admin email address, i.e. admin@theqe2story.com.

Pity this wasn't raffled off , I'm sure there would have been a lot more interest at £5 an entrance with all funds to site .

I would dearly have liked to own this great model but I know it will exceed my top offer anyway  . oh well I'll just have to make do with a 1:1200 scale  .
