I saw this recently, and wasn't 100% sure whether I'd seen it before or not.

Only just getting around to watching it tonight, and no I haven't!  Its wonderful!  Its very high quality - looking like it was recorded yesterday.  The description on the website is incorrect, its not from 1967, but definitely 1975.  Presented by Allan Hargreaves.  Produced & Directed by Terry Yarwood.

Now how come this has only just come to light? another hidden gem  :)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

I gather it's not available in NTSC?

I was interested in ordering a copy but even though it is noted they accept Pay Pal when you get to the payment part there is not an option for Pay Pal.

The point of having a Pay Pal account it that you do not have to give your credit card details. Not sure what is the problem with this web site!
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Right now they are probably wondering why they have sold so much in only a few hours.....

Same question as Jeff, is or will it be available in a format viewable in the United States?  I'll see if I can contact them and get an answer.

I'd love to order a copy if it was compatible for the US.  Any news?

I joined this forum because I would really like to find a copy of the 1975 Thames Televsion documentary on the QE2 - the Last of the Great Queens.  I have looked on Amazon - although it is listed it is unavailable with no indication that it will become available again.  No sign of it on ebay.  The reason I am interested: one of my young sons is interested in cruise liners and I was thinking about Christmas presents on this theme when I remembered that my dad (his grandad) was part of the TV crew that made the documentary - he was the sound recordist, Peter Bond, pretty sure he is credited on the doc.   I was 11 when he went off on this assignment - he didn't really want to go I think as he had 3 kids and was getting to the age when he didn't want to work away from home but ended up having a great time, well he came home half a stone heavier!  He never got to meet my children so I would really love to get hold of a copy of the DVD.  I have read a couple of comments on this forum that the quality of the documentary was very good - my dad would be very pleased, he was a stickler for the quality of a production!

Anybody out there who has a copy they want to sell or knows of another outlet - I would be most grateful. Thanks

Hello Melissa, and very welcome to the Forum!

I too would love to know more about this documentary and it would be a great pleasure to see it. I hope one of us here has a copy that they could somehow share with you -- it is such an excellent idea for a Christmas present.

I would also love to hear more of the stories your father told you when he returned from QE2, half a stone heavier!

Welcome, Melissa, to The QE2 Story Forum.  It would indeed be great to be able to locate a copy of the documentary and I am sure there are many of us here who would very much like to see it.  Please tell us more about your Dad and his work on the documentary and of his time on our QE2 making it.  I hope you and your son have a chance to explore the topics on The Forum as this is the place to be for all things QE2 and there are topics on other liners as well.  June   :)

HI Melissa - and Welcome!

Have you tried ITV - or googling > second hand  / used /pre-loved / Oxfam DVDs

Also - sometimes a different Amazon can help - the German one for example....

You'll find details here too!

Has anyone any current information on this DVD? Amazon says that it's not in stock. Any ideas for 2017?
