Hi Lynda and Rob
Great theme!
...so will photos for the month of March need to have been taken before the date that QE2 relinquished her status as flagship?
There's a good video posted here:

Thank you :)

'QE2 left Southampton 19th April 2004 for the final time as flagship of the Cunard fleet'

That is definitely one way of interpreting the theme. There will be dozens of other ways, I bet :D .

It will be very interesting to see how many ways we can think of in the Forum that show the notion of "Flagship" with a clear link to QE2! This will be a very enticing collection.

The album will be open for upload within the next day or so.

Use your imagination

Could be photos of flags on board QE2, flag waving from on shore at a QE2 event, photos of QE2 looking magnificent in her years as flagship Both of cunard and unofficially of the entire British Merchant fleet....

We have 15 photos submitted so far for the March Photo of the Month Competition.  Thank-you to everyone who have uploaded these photos.  I am still looking for 3 photos that would reflect QE2 as a flagship.  I even had a look at Wikipedia to see their description of this word which was as follows:

"A flagship is a vessel used by the commanding officer of a group of naval ships, reflecting the custom of its commander, characteristically a flag officer, flying a distinguishing flag. Used more loosely, it is the lead ship in a fleet of vessels, typically the first, largest, fastest, most heavily armed, or, in terms of media coverage, best known."

Back to the photo files to look for my photos.   ;D

I've just submitted 3 photos with a nefarious connection to the theme and just realised that one of them I used for the February competition too. If I had a brain I would be dangerous! Anyhoo is that ok as it probably is as relevant to this month's theme as last. Colours are nice too. However if it's a problem I can remove.

Regards

Alistair

Hello Alistair, I am sure that members will have photos that would fit into more than one theme, and although it is good to see lots of new photos there may be times when we have photos from previous competitions.

We currently have 33 photos uploaded to the Gallery for this month's competition. You have until midnight (BST) to upload your favourite "Flagship" photo to the February competition.

I will be setting up the poll today ready to post for you to start voting tomorrow. The photos are looking good and as usual you will have a difficult choice on your hand to choose the winner.
