Ah OK... understanding about the dates now, thanks!  ... coincidentally, I have camping in Mull for the May bank holiday weekend pencilled in with my sister & co...

Question - can you get on & off at Tobermory on the saturday for a trip?  How busy is it likely to be (I'm guessing extremely!).

Yes Rob, you can :), to the rare destination of Inverie.  Busy-wise ~ probably a lot less so than it will be on the 26th June!

Lynda, this is PS Jeanie Deans, my all-time favourite and Waverley's 'big sister', built pre-WW2 ~ larger, much more luxuriously appointed and better looking, with the straight bow and counter stern ("every ship should have one"!) and, unfortunately, gone before Gavin's time.  Ach weel, being as old as me has obviously had some advantages.  If only I could remember what they were... ???

Thanks Helen, I am currently scanning old photos and adding information to them for future generations.  I will look up the Jeanie Deans on Google to get some further information on her.
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

Thanks.  Oh I know the 26th will be crazy-busy... but it had to be a Saturday, and it had to go past Browns, so options were limited...

Oh no!  By the time I'd sorted out various logistical issues regarding the Oban/Western Isles weekend, there was no accommodation left in Oban, so I'm not going this year :'(

So, have a great time, Gavin, the other regulars, my brother Steven & nephew George (Friday only) and anyone else who will be there - and I'll see you at the end of June.

Bon voyage!!

Just come back to the computer to see her arriving back at Oban, due at 18.00hrs on Sunday.  See webcams   http://www.oban.org.uk/content/page.php?page_id=50&sub_id=47 on North Pier and  http://www.oban.org.uk/content/page.php?page_id=50&sub_id=60 at the lighhouse/Railway Pier

After disembarking passengers, she'll be departing for her evening cruise up to Fort William ...

Wish I was on board, rather than stuck at home with German flu!

Get well soon, Rob.

You can see her in Oban again on Monday at 10.00 and 19.30, and leaving to head back south at 09.00 on Tuesday - I think I'll probably not be able to watch the final one, as I'll be driving to work at that time.

Looking forward to our get-together at the end of June - less than four weeks now!

What an excellent photo.  Well done to the photgrapher for framing the Waverley with the beautiful scenery.  .
