Great to see it on its travels -- and looking forward to reading whether you will have found it to have been VERY EASY :) ...

There's a beautiful vintage jigsaw of QE2 for sale here.

Looks very similar in style but a different design. Lovely!

It's this one -- which I am about to start on its world cruise next week-end. Marc-Antoine, would you like to give it a try?

Sorry, hadn't noticed there was already a topic about this one!

Well, thanks for the proposal Isabelle, but even without mentioning that I'm close to complete incompetence as a jigsaw practiser, I wouldn't dare risk this precious item in any postal service hands right now.

Reason is I'm currently dealing with two cases of international postal carelessness, one being the complete destruction of a well-protected parcel and its content, the other the disappearance without trace of the parcel itself. Not sure to be wanting a third case...

Hi,

I originally gave the first jigsaw to Isabelle as a gift, as I knew she liked doing jigsaws.

When she suggested sending it on to forum members, it seemed a delightful, generous suggestion, which I fully supported.  The fact that it could get lost in the postal system, or damaged, is part of the reason she was being so generous.

So we all accept it can get lost or damaged, although we do what we can to prevent this, and enjoy the fun for as long as it can last!   It might be an idea to post the tracking number on this topic each time the jigsaw sets off on another journey, so that we can all follow it on its way.

If either of the jigsaws gets lost or damaged, we'll all understand.  This is why we found it so hard to accept when it went missing for a year, and the holder wouldn't reply to any emails about it!

But for now, lets see how long we can continue to enjoy this.  Looking forward to Peter's photos - if possible showing yourself with the jigsaw before, during and after completion!

Yes, there will indeed be photos - they may not be up to the usual standard as they'll have to be done on an instant camera - been offered a digital but I need to collect it from Lincoln so it'll be a few weeks before I can get it...

Well... it's done!  :)

Photos will follow - didn't have enough instant film to hand so we did some pictures on my wife's camera, but we're only half way through the film, so there will be somewhat of a time lag but the proof of doing will be shown in due course.

Meanwhile, the total time elapsed, including the occasional interruption from the kids, was 2h20 from start to finish...  I have added the time taken information to the "log book" that is with the jigsaw in addition to my name, location and date.

So.... who is next please?

Well done, Peter! But of course you did warn us that you were a speedy puzzler  ;D .

Thank you for taking photos and adding place and date to the "logbook".

Now, who is next? I'd love to see QE2 working her way around a few more ports...

Here are the pictures; excuse the quality of the last one - it was taken too close to the jigsaw so the flash washed out the image a bit.

Meanwhile, I have re-packed the jigsaw and all it needs is a name and address to set course for...
