WH Smith QE2 the last great liner (video and book)

As there are now a growing number of members to our group, i thought it may be interesting to let them know of the amount of video's and DVD's available to buy and watch. I bought a video recently that shows the QE2 from John Brown's through all the re-fits over the years. There is also a small book that goes with the video. I can recommend it to all as a really good video. Running time is approx. 1 hour.

I was looking for something completely different on YT this evening, and then I found this video. I personally find it very entertaining to learn about the history of the ship, although some might not be completely true as told in this video. I will leave that for someone else to judge, I don't know that much about the early history of the ship. The story telling is a little bit slow, and boring at some time.

What personally intrigued me, at the very beginning they said Cunard might want to sell the ship before it entered service, is this true? Ore some rumor that someone made up?

I don't really know the person who made the video, are to who the right belong, but I don't thing that the personal who uploaded it to YT is the actual rightfully owner of the footage.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would share the YouTube link to this great QE2 documentary for those who haven't seen it (I first watched it many years ago now on VHS!).

Most of the then current footage of QE2 was filmed shortly before her "Project Lifestyle" refit of late 1994, early 1995. Little did people know the Carnival group would come along and QM2 would be envisaged and built within the decade!

First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last stepped foot and sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2, in her new life, in Dubai back in January 2020.

If so, these two topics can be merged :) .

Yes it is, that's just an early issue VHS edition (along with a book, surprisingly  :o ).

These are the same. Both the documentary and VHS were released in 1995 and have the same running time.
