Last crossing of a British-registered Cunard ship
« on: Nov 09, 2011, 06:19 PM »
Tomorrow, Queen Mary 2 sets off for the last ever Westbound crossing of a British registered Cunard ship/flagship/liner.  Her return trip, obviously, will be the last crossing of a great liner with SOUTHAMPTON emblazoned on her stern.

It would be interesting to hear what the local newspapers make of it all, and the residents of Southampton..
Can imagine they are all pretty sick.
Now if only Cunard were as quick with the release of the Wedding details or even a smattering of information about there Grand Old Wedding Chapel for the ships. They have moved very fast with the renaming. (if only the ships could move that fast) Any news of the Wedding stuff has been very slow in forthcoming. Are they not aware that most brides are planning their wedding many months if not years ahead, Where l work we have bookings for 2013 already.
Perhaps given the recent mass discounting of the cruise fares, are they expecting brides to book last minute? Then again, if you want to plan a wedding so far ahead, what can you do if there is no brochure? the guests cant then book their cabins, and everyone is left all at sea... ::)
From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!

The only person who should hold his breath waiting for the wedding chapel is possibly Lord John P!
