 :'( The AMERICAN STAR was first AMERICA, of US Lines, then became AUSTRALIS of Chandris (who also looked at the second Mauretania, also up for sale about the same time) Chandris bought AMERICA and I sailed from Melbourne to Auckland vis Sydney in her in 1977. So I knew her when she was alive, and so winced to see her smapped in half. :'(
