Hey Bobso,

Thrilled you have found your kit!

Your Britannic sounds great too, hopefully you will show us some pics of that?

To reply to the post from Andrew--the pictures of the model of "Britannic" iwill let you see soon. Unfortunatly i have been rather ill for the last few days and indeed am not feeling too good right now. However, i thought i would reply to your post to let you know why i have not answered you sooner. Hopefully later this week i will be able to let you see the pictures. My apologies for this but hope you will understand.

Thanks for the response Bobso, Am sorry to hear you have been unwell, I trust things improve soon for you.

Whilst I, and i'm sure others are keen to see photos, there is no rush, please take your time and only sort it out when you are ready to do some comfortably.

We shall wait with eager anticipation!

All the best  8)

Hi Andrew, Had to go in to hospital and have beeen told to stay off the computer for a couple of weeks. Only allowed on for a few minutes at a time, instead of maybe 2 hours at a time. Am stuffed full of tablets just now, and am very sleepy as a result. Will get the pictures of the Britannic on for you as soon as i can. Sorry about this but hope you understand that my health must come first.

Take care Bob and follow doctor's orders. Hope you are feeling better soon.

First of all i would like to say-- "thanks" to all you good people who have sent me "Get well" messages. I am still in quite a bit of pain but it is not nearly as bad as it was. I have a really good Dr. who is doing a first class job of looking after me--and i also have a fantastic wife and son who have sat up with me on numerous occasions right through the night.

As promised-- Here are a few pictures of my model of the "Britannic"--it is lit with LED's and Fibre Optic cables, and the E.L. wire glowing "Green" down both Port and Starboard sides of the liner. I have many more but hope these pictures will give an idea of what it looks like.

Hi Lynda, Andrew and other members who have asked about my health. I am getting better each day now so hopefully will soon be back to my normal self. The door phone went this afternoon and it was the Royal Mail delivery service man. He gave me the Otaki model of the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 that i bought from a man in California on the 30th June. That seems an incredibly fast return of goods especially from the USA.It seems to be all there, but time will tell when i actually commence the build. If bits are missing i can simply scratchbuild replacements.
Better go now as it is time for more pills.!!!

Hi Andrew, Thanks for your good wishes--i am feeling a lot better now and hope to be back to full health in about one week or so. As regards the "Green Lights" on the Port and Starboard sides of the hull of the Britannic-- I am not sure what they were for. However, there are video's  on U-Tube that show them. If you watch the origonal one, at 2 minutes and 48 seconds in you will see a string of these lights in white. The film itself is in Black and White so maybe the lights WERE white in colour. In the new version of the film  they are Green in colour. As i can not find a way to replicate strings of tiny light bulbs, i decided to use E.L. wire fed from an inverter to try and duplicate the lights as in the new film. I will post more pictures in the days to come to let you see the model "As Is" at the moment.
Here is the link to the B and W film---

Here is a link to another video that clearly shows the Green strings of lights. Fast forward to one minute fifty five seconds in and you can see them.

...the green line, do you know why they did that? Had never heard of it until now.

I would say the reason for the green lights was to signal her hospital ship status.

Thank you Twynkle for the information regarding the Green String lights on the Britannic. The third reference i had not seen before so it is nice to know that i have got that right. If only there was some way of making the string lights small enough to look authentic!! :-\

I will post some other pics of my model at a later date.
