Thank-you to everyone who shared their embarrassing QE2 moments. If you have not read these before go to the top of the topic and be prepared for a laugh.

I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

The habit I used to have of overdoing the rich food (as I love my food) on the first night and/or couple of nights started on QE2 (and happened on QM2)...I can still visualize my Dad standing up from our table in the Caronia and thinking what to do with the unfortunate contents of one of the water glasses (where it mainly only went thank goodness) and all of us hoping the dreaded cabin quarantine for suspected Noro-virus didn't come to us. My Dad became quite proficient in going to the nearest public bathroom outside the restaurants (Caronia and Britannia) and luckily the waiters and waitresses understood if needed. Needless to say I've known my limits for a while now (this not happening on the more recent QM2 voyages for example). My Dad was long suffering in this sense...something we both look back on in passing with mixed emotions!

First sailed on QE2 in August 2003 aged 6 years old. Last sailed on QE2 in July 2008. Last saw the seagoing QE2 in person from the decks of QM2, on QE2's last Transatlantic crossing (Eastbound tandem) in October 2008. Visited QE2 in her new life, in Dubai, in January 2020 and August 2022.
