Three Queens in Southampton
« on: Mar 19, 2011, 05:52 PM »
I have been given to understand that shortly before the Olympics next year, Cunard will have all three Queens in Southampton on the same day as each other.

Anyone know the proposed date please?

Its the 5th June, one can only begin to imagine the hype that Carnival will produce.. Then again P&O have all their ships in port for one day as well... imagine trying to get a taxi on THAT day.

You would hope that even with the 3 Queens ::) the logistics of getting all the passengers disembarking/embarking will be fine tuned. It does make you wonder if perhaps they had a boat train organised from London if that would make it easier. At least with a boat train you can say for sure how many will use it and what time they will arrive. The days of poping the luggage in the baggage van at Waterloo station, taking your seat and the next time you saw the case was in your cabin are all long since gone.

Never having been used with travelling light its one part of a cruise l really hate was travelling with SouthWest trains and the luggage, These modern trains are not designed for luggage, and certainly not cruise luggage. Heck even with dear old East Coast l had to get mine into the guards van, and thats travelling in the posh seats.

From the moment you first glimpsed the Queen,
you just knew you were in for a very special time ahead.!
