Great to think that you now have a lovely new place to display all these treasures. I hope they get to be used now and again too :) .

Wow! Myles, they are unusual and thanks for posting.
If I may ask, where did you manage to find them?
Steve.

Oooh! What an impressive array of things there are here!
The type of things for sale the shop must have changed considerably over the forty years.
For example -  'QE2 T-Shirts', when did they first make an appearance?
When did Harrods open on board  - and was Hardings a supplier from the beginning?
And the bears, the hats and the lifebelts etc etc

So that we can get an idea of the history of souvenirs bought on board QE2,
do you think it would be interesting to post the specific date that true memorabilia was on sale?

The post referring to the QE2 mug prompted me to open the coffee mug drawer at home - and what is still in there at the back - the QE2 Birthday mug! And, as can be seen, it does get used.

Oddly enough, I didn't celebrate my birthday on the QE2, but last August my wife and I made up for it by celebrating both our birthdays on the QE.

Also, the July 2008 crew calendar, just to remind us of where we went on that QE2 cruise.

Cheers

Skilly

ps - tonight's Forum Bridge cam shot also shows us in Trieste on July 10th, 2008, as shown on the attached calendar!

Rosie,
The shops have changed a lot over the years, Allders Duty free ran them for a lot of years,My first recollection was when they were on the top level of the Double room and were along the side, then when they were moved about after the 87 refit it seemed to expand the choice and range. The Logo shop increased in size ;D.
Harrods years ago when they were on One deck did a nice range of quality Harrods/QE2 logo souvenirs, ok perhaps you were paying a bit more, but that stuff was only on QE2.Laterly they were selling  items that could be bought in the London store and had no real link to QE2 herself.

I do remember once onboard being invited to apply for the Harrods charge card, which l did, the card came through in the post and was ready to be used on my next cruise. Never used it in the London branch.

Souvenirs to me were always (and still are) a big thing no matter where l go. I dread to think how much has been spent over the years on souvenirs and photos onboard, when the sales assistants know your cabin number, its not a good sign. A couple of times things were rung through as staff sales and the discount applied.

Skilly - the bridgecam image changes each time you refresh the screen, not daily.  It can be quite fun refreshing a few times to see what images come up.
