just found this photo, it might be of interest .I managed to get a picture of the bridge when I visited her in 1977

It's hard to fathom that this era of technology was running almost in parallel with QE2.  I suspect QE's bridge was not much different.

The first photo is of QM's bridge at Long Beach. She did not have that brass rail arrangement, midships, when in service.
I was on both QM and QE's bridges, as a youth,  and while QE was similar, it did seem a bit more modern in the 60's, with radars a bit aft-center in a boxed, darkened space retrofitted into the wheelhouse. I don't recall the QM's radar placement. Telegraphs, fire/safety/stabilizer/comm equipment seemed somewhat similar, as I recall. The QE's wheelhouse space was larger in area and her bridge wings were more sizable and without the wing doghouses.
