Hello all!
I've known Rob for at least a decade sharing the occasional email about QE2 during this time. I think this is a superb idea. Thanks for taking the time to set this forum up - hopefully it will get a large and loyal following - there are a lot of QE2 fans out there!!
A bit about me... I became extremely interested in QE2 at age 11 when I saw her for the first time in Auckland Harbour. She was superb. I became instantly addicted to life aboard the ship - I'm sure it's the same for a lot of you - it's so easy to become passionate about QE2 - to remember every sound, every room, every corridor... to remember the feel of her moving across the ocean, her engine vibration almost like a heart beat...
I have run an independent Cunard website since 1999 - so it will celebrate its 10th Birthday this year - at
www.chriscunard.com - the idea behind the website was, and still is, to provide easy to access information and imagery of the great Cunarders (especially QE2, QM2 and now Queen Victoria).
Last year I co-authored a photographic QE2 book -
http://www.qe2book.com and was fortunate to lecture aboard QE2 during her farewell Mediterranean Sojourn cruise. Speaking aboard QE2 about QE2 to people who love QE2 was a superb and unforgettable experience. I am now in the process of co-authoring a further four books about Cunard's Ocean Liners which is a very exciting experience!
Cheers,
Chris.
