If anything, the QE's similarity to the Victoria means the massive Queen Mary 2, the liner launched in 2004, now reigns as the queen of the Cunard fleet...

YES! And rightly so, QM2 is an OCEAN LINER, and as such she deserves to the the Queen of the Seas (now that QE2 is gone).

Quote from: The Post
Just six years after Cunard was pointing out that only its Queen Mary 2 was a true ocean liner, with a hull built to cut through massive seagoing waves, the company is trying to pretend its two subsequent vessels are, too, by pushing a "New Golden Age of Ocean Travel" meme in its marketing.

This was always my concern, that the marketing of these beautiful cruise ships as "ocean liners" might confuse people as to what QM2 really it - it seems however that people (other than us ship buffs) can see through this?

Queen Elizabeth, a cruise ship that longs to be an ocean liner, is pitched at traditionalists who like to dress more formally for dinner, and sail with a sense of occasion and style.
