We need volunteers to create a series of QE2 Stories on the main https://www.theqe2story.com/ website.

As you will see, I've made a series of placeholders down the side of the page, which will open up the individual pages.

What I'd like to do is give everybody who wants one a single page on which to tell a summarised version of their story.  This will be at a handy web address that you can quote elsewhere - e.g. www.theqe2story.com/yourname

Please email me at admin@TheQE2Story.com with the text, photos etc. and try to make it as easy as possible for me to figure out how you want it.  This will be the hardest bit for me!

Here are some suggestions as to what to include:-

  • You can base it on your introduction from here, or maybe use that as a starting point
  • Probably best not to make it too long... or too short!
  • You MUST include a photo of yourself, preferably with the QE2 in the background, or with you on QE2!
  • Include a few photos that can be embedded in the story, but not too many.  I can include links to photo and video galleries and other sites that interest you etc.
  • Tell about your introduction to the QE2
  • Tell about how many trips you made
  • What did the ship mean to you?
  • Why was she special?
  • Favourite rooms/cabins/ports of call etc
  • What will you miss most & why will you miss her?

Rob,
Will this be an ongoing thing or a one time deal with a submission deadline.  I will have lots of material to work from once I get my photos converted to digital and would love to submit a story or two.

No plans to restrict it Bob, if its a success and I can cope with the demand, and you can come back and update it/expand it later if you wish.

Count me in, Rob! Looking forward to putting the material together  :D

Probably will be delivered in several instalments if that's all right. The whole thing will be wonderful -- so many different takes on the one great ship!

I'd certainly be up for that. Could be a nice source of memories when complete - there are some very varied experiences on board.

Not sure if we should encourage Myles though!

Rob,
It sounds like a great idea, every voyage has had its own memories, some good and some unprintable
and lm sure with selective editing l could add one or two tales from a skip down memory lane
Trouble is lm not sure who is watching on here
As your suggestions go that might be a good format to make a start with?
Go for it!!! of course it might mean that you have even less time to yourself, and maybe in time to come put
it into print and we can all retire on the royalities.......
  "Recollections of a Queen" ;)

I'm struggling with the technicalities of this, although a couple of people have now sent submissions.

Please bear with me while I work out how the website is going to work exactly ...

Thanks.
