In reply #18 above, is that the view from what is now the Holiday Inn?  It looks very much like it.  I got exactly the same view of QE2 in August 2008, from the rear fire escape, and I can't explain how excited I was at that point!

Thanks for scanning and posting these great photos!  I am always facinated looked at old pictures of the ship and looking for the changes.  In post #8, you can see those original black railings and a bit of warping in them.
