It looks like I will be able to come along for drinks at the Crowne Plaza on Friday as I'm still here in Glasgow.
I couldn't book anything in advance as I didn't know if I would be in Kuwait or not. Will be good to see you all again  :)

Sounds good, Alistair - looking forward to seeing you again!

In a bit of a hurry - just wondering would anyone else who is coming like to come on one of the Clyde Cruise small boats - on Sunday 10th July?

I will be ringing them first thing tomorrow morning!
A person who lives/works in Greenock has told that the best way to see the Tall Ships will be from the water.

(She also said that the folk in Greenock are feeling 'a bit' left out - all the sponsorship and other trade having been taken up by big companies - and that the locals haven't been asked to become involved at all.)

More than 50 ships set sail from Waterford

It was a wonderful show! The Irish newspapers were full of it over the week-end, and the radio reports (I don't watch television) were too. It must have been a lovely, festive, happy and amazing week-end in Waterford... and the pictures looked quite extraordinary.

Here just a few newspaper articles :

I was particularly impressed by a report on a ship fitted out so that mobility impaired and blind people can enjoy as many as possible of the activities on board -- including a wheelchair lift up a mast!

And a beautiful set on Flickr by Michael 678, here :

Those in Greenock next week-end -- enjoy yourselves!
