WaveyDavey, QE2 Engineering Officer, 2003-2008

Having moved to Cape Town a couple of years ago as I married a South African.

I left Cunard about a year ago having worked for them as EO for just over five years; more or less evenly split between QE2 and QM2 - as a senior officer I did get to know rather a lot about them.

Welcome!

How would you feel if QE2 had turned up in South Africa ?  Would you have gone to visit?
Passionate about QE2's service life for 37 years and creator of this website.  Worked in IT for 27 years and created my personal QE2 website in 1994.

Hello and Welcome!

It's great that you have joined us - hope that you'll enjoy having a bit of a look around...
Perhaps  you'll soon realise too,
that any contributions you might make will be read with genuine appreciation :)
(Hope it won't seem like another of those 'cocktail parties', ;)  !)

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

Hi I have just joined this site. I worked on the QE2 as manageress of Steiner salon from 1979-1980....long timem agao. Best time ever. I now spend about 8 months each year in South Africa, Hillcrest near Durban. I was in CT this year for a short holiday with some friends. Just thought I would make contact.
