hello from norma
« on: May 09, 2009, 11:27 PM »
I have just found this site and decided to register. The QE2 has long been in my life as my father joined her in 1975 and was head bartender in in the Piano Bar until 1982.  I was lucky to travel on her in my younger years and in 1985 I met my husband on her.  He was a public room steward in the Lido. In May 2008 we went on her for our 21st anniversary, a trip I will never forget.  I hope this great lady is treated with the respect she deserves.

Hello Norma

Welcome!  It's good that you have found the Forum!
Hope that you will find lots here that will be of interest.

Like you, we all feel concerned too - there are some wonderful memories here,
kindred spirits might help!

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

I met my husband on her.

Welcome Norma - I suspect there are a lot of people who have romantic events (if you can call meeting your husband that :D ) linked to that ship :)

Hello Norma and a very warm welcome to the forum!  Thank you for taking the time to post your introduction message!

So happy for you that you made it on board again for your 21st anniversary before it was too late!

Just wondering if anyone knows where George Willis is now?  I worked with him in the mid 80's mainly in the Q4/Lido
