A well earned standing ovation for the dance group.  This is a lovely memory of the QE2's final call to Cobh.

I also liked the film footage of QE2 at the start of the video - she as always is the real star of the show!  ;D

My wife and I have spent much of lockdown watching once again our dvds of the final World cruise of the QE2. We were also fortunate to go on the final British Isles cruise and this a clip from the dvds of that cruise. It is the wonderful display of Irish Dancing performed by a local dance group.I have so much video of these two cruises that I hope to put clips of highlights on Youtube in the coming months.

Thanks, please post a link when you put the video clips on Youtube especially the film footage of QE2 exterior and interior.

As a crew member i always enjoyed our visits to Cobh, if for no other reason than it was only a short walk into town to enjoy the delights of the many bars serving various examples of 'Irish Black Stuff'!

Actually first went there on RVS  in '97 and we were alongside, even a shorter walk to enjoy the local delights, although for some reason, the walk back was often longer!!

A great video . Cobh l think really set the tone for the Farewell UK voyage, with the added bonus of skipping Cherbourg it allowed us a rare overnight. and the send off was beautiful with the bell ringing as we slowly sailed past.
I always felt this voyage was better in terms of atmosphere than the crossings, and probably general mix of passengers. A few of us who were doing the crossings were of the same mindset.
Look forward to seeing more of your videos when time permits !

We called into Cobh on the Vistafjord, having not been there before I asked an Irish girl in the Casino what it was like?
The answer - "Oh Cobh is just a little Irish town, there are only 36 pubs in the main street!"
We certainly got through a few of them, to this day I maintain that Guinness changes flavor if it crosses salt water, never tasted anything as good as drinking it in Ireland! :)
