There are some amazing photos there, that i've never seen before.

The card room in both its guises - love the dark green velvet stuff!

The Double Down piano bar

2 Views of the midships bar that i've not seen before.

The 6 deck pool - looking a bit dark & scary to me - like diving out of the bottom of the ship!

This image shows how confusing the aft decks were with the magradome - http://www.thecaptainslog.org.uk/QE2/1991/220-30aw.jpg

Great find!

Whilst trawling around I came upon this site   http://www.thecaptainslog.org.uk/QE284.html  maybe this has been posted on the forum previously if so then apologies, but well worth a second look; many 1984 vintage photos abound , tall funnel ,black davits , old tenders, also many interior shots of the same era, links within the piece to look at his photostream, visit the qe2 gallery.  I enjoyed it hope you do  pete cain....

A link to superb photos on flickr of QE2 from 1982 - 2008, many taken by 'Captain Martini' (of The Captains log website)
and by others, some taken from various publications as well as by Cunard

Interesting to note from 1983 images, that instead of the varnished teak railing on the boat deck, it looks much darker -
like the davits etc, was it black?

There are some great images of the Columbia restaurant and Robert Heritage's chairs made by Race

QE2 had been waiting alongside in Dubai for nearly 12 years.  Please restore her Lifeboats and Tenders to where they truly belong - she looks naked without them - please spare her this ignominy.

Amazing photos.  I did not sail on QE2 until 1997 and find it hard to believe the difference in the interior shown in the 1991 photos and when I was onboard.

Great pictures Lynda. A lot of those early ones were 'my QE2' and seeing them again was brilliant, thanks. Will be adding that website to my favourites. The one of the Queens bust reminded me of my first world cruise. There were always lots of small private cocktail parties in various places and one of those that came up regularly was UHMB.

Hi Alan and Lynda
There are many more websites that have interesting details that may not appear in many other places!

And there's also Cunardqueens own site - full of great interviews and images too!

I han't realised just how many different profiles QE2 had over the years, it's quite fascinating to see them all on one page. Some of the changes are really obvious, but others much more subtle. Its a bit like one of those spot the difference puzzles you get in some magazines.
