Final call to Rotterdam

Here we go again, this does really tug at the heart strings a bit :'( but well worth a look) as usual many thanks to youtube & those who post

It was a lovely, but sad, sailaway... An orchestra playing, firetugs saluting, and so many people waving from the quays and from streets, from the windows of high-rise apartments, and the banks of the canal, everywhere, as we sailed away. There was a wonderful loving atmosphere... and the knowledge that we would not be back on her...  :'(

When I visit the SS Rotterdam at the end of February, it will be with the very same people who were standing on the decks of QE2 with me that day... there will be lots of memories...

Yes, we were there! I was aware of the fact that the race was going on, and we did see interesting aircraft flying across -- but it was only one thing in an eventful day... which was of course QE2's final call to Rotterdam...

Thank you for the film, which brings back memories of wonderful days!
