Share your memories here - one at a time !
« on: Jan 28, 2009, 05:14 PM »
Myles,
If I may be so bold ...? (and because I'm a nosy one)
Love love loved the condensed version of your QE2 memories in the "Hello Rob" section. You made me gasp, smile, chuckle and sigh in equal amounts   ;D and I for one need to hear more details of your adventures.
I think it just needs a few brave souls to get the ball rolling and see where we end up.

Just an idea but how about we all make a pact to share one memory at a time and relive them all over again?
(sorry for taking over Rob but thought you might appreciate someone filling up all those empty boxes on the home page and opening up a few more areas for discussion?!)

Anyone with me? Please? I do feel a bit silly talking to myself  :-[

Oh... and I thought you were only posting all these new threads to see the pleasures in store when you tire of dining in the Lido ...  ;D

The trouble with Mauretania dining is that one has to be either early or late.  Will this mean that if you are early sitting for example, you can't post after 8pm?  We should be told lol!

Andy if you are on the Late sitting does that mean extended posting hours, l tended to leave with enough time for quick drink before be forced to the midnight buffet...  ;D
Oh what about those in the Grills....Not that l ever went Grill class and never had any inclination to do so.

Not wishing to upset my esteemed fellow passengers here but I have to agree with you on that one Cunardqueen.  Speaking as a former 'Caronian', I've always been very satisfied but then again, I am but a man of simple tastes!

As for late postings, you only have to look at the times of my posts to find the answer to that one lol!

I agree Caronia Rest' is very nice I dined in there in 2002 on the Transatlantic. The only thing was as there weren't enough passengers, the wings were closed off and it did make it look rather empty. Which is why I like PG. As its nice and intimate, only a 100 or so diners, and its near original condition. I dont know why it happened but everytime we booked with Cunard we got upgraded to a Grill- otherwise I never would have been in PG or BG.
Im free...

Hey now!  The Grills were great!  We dined twice in the Princess and our last crossing was in the Brittania.  Sticky toffee pudding was superb!  :o

I did actually have lunch a few times in the Britannia Grill on back to back cruises, and while it was superb, l did find the service a tad stuffy, and the food quite rich, ok so l didnt need to clear the plate, but it was rude to leave a bit on the side, But oh my the chilled soups were to die for.
