Supposedly maiden voyage will be Christmas cruise 2024 . The only other info I have is 15 passenger decks and 4000 passengers.

When i worked for International Martime Security [IMS] my first ship was part of the Premier Cruise Lines fleet, Oceanic. She 'lived' from 1963 through to 2012, not a bad life and an interesting career if you look her up on Wikipedia.

However, during my time onboard we were linked to Disney in that you could have 4 days at Walt Disney World in Orlando and 3 days on Oceanic, which sailed out of Port Canaveral, or visa versa. As we were linked to Disney we had a selelction of Disney charactors [critters] onboard who had 'appearance' schedules around the ship. After a couple of months this link changed to Universal as this was when Disney first announced they were going into the cruise business themselves. The joke onboard at this time was that 'we're not even a Micky Mouse organisation now!'

Some years later, when i was on Vistafjord and we were in Venice, some of the ex Cunard engineers who had gone over to Disney used to come onboard as they were overseeinng the new build of the first Disney ship in the Fincantiari shipyard in Venice.

One of the photographers on the Vistafjord had worked on Premier, he had some hilarious stories regarding the Disney Critters. Apparently the identity of the person inside the character costume must be kept secret...well one one occasion Donald Duck fell into the ships pool and had to be rescued, they would not remove the head to give him mouth to mouth until he was out of view of the passengers.

My wife and daughter work for Disney. Wife at Disneys time share in their concierge division  she does one day/week in Epcot in their lounge there, and 4 days/week at home. Cakie/Caitlin works 5day/week at Disney's Hollywood Studios in the Star Wars section
 The stories they come home with even now after all this time in Florida , 35 years, still blows my mind regarding the complete and utter stupidity of people!! Trust me, it is not limited to Americans! It is also not limited to alcohol related incidents either. This is why nthe Sun and the Daily and Sunday Mail have large offices and staffs in the US.
I seriously thought that I had seen it all in 20 years at sea on cruise ships !!! No way Jose! As the Carpenters sang: We've only just begun !

One of the 'tasks' for the Security Officer, in my time with Premier, was to 'escort' the charactors when they moved around the ship. Although they had a 'minder' whose job it was to guide them as they had hardly any vision through their heads, there had also been times when, kids had come up behind the charactors and try to trip them up, not very dignified near a staricase!

When i applied to Cunard i omitted putting on my CV, 'Close protection' for Donald Duck & Micky Mouse!

The changing room where the 'critters' got dressed had an 'air lock' system to enter, in that it was double doored and both doors couldn't be open at the same time, hence no body could see directly into the room from the adjacent corridor.
