Alex has kindly done some videos for us over the past 2 days while on board QE2 Hotel Dubai.  Here are the first three.  He's also sent me a pile of wonderful photos again.

Hopefully - for people like Rod, the walkaround videos will help get your bearings and spark some memories of the layout of old.

Thanks for thinking of us Alex!

It is much appreciated.
First question.  What is that piece of artwork, that at a glance, looks like an astronaut trying to get in to a lifeboat!
I only had a quick glance. Going back to look a bit closer.

Excellent videos from Alex - thanks for sending to Rob to post - give a much better idea of what it is like on board compared to still photos.

How nice to see some video footage of inside and out, it does give a much better idea and understanding of QE2 in Dubai. Some excellent footage and thanks for taking the time to post.

I think you are referring to Pegasus, the winged horse?

Thanks Alex for taking time to do the videos, which I enjoyed watching.  It was good to see QE2 looking good (but she always looks good to me)!
I was proud to be involved with planning QE2's 50 year conference in September 2017 in Clydebank

  • Beautiful, elegant QE2 - forever Queen of the Seas

QE2 - the ship for all of time, a ship of timeless beauty !

Excellent videos, each of them just about a minute, with a walk through another part of QE2.

I particularly appreciated Alex talking about what he sees, so that we see the new, but also understand how it relates to the old.

She does look well cared for and clean, which is very reassuring. Looking forward to seeing some more videos of the same or different parts.

The most surprising one was that of the car lift with the Rolls-Royce inside! That of course was something that we never got the chance to see as passengers…

Really interesting videos, and well made too. Nice to see how the ship has changed since 2018.

Struggling to place where the entrance to the nightclub is - has that replaced some of shopping arcade?
