The theme for the September Competition, "QE2 in exciting weather" was chosen by Anubhav Mitra.
Thank you to everyone who submitted pictures, which we really appreciate. We hope that you enjoy choosing and voting for your 3 favourites. This is the first competition of the new "calendar" year, with winning and runner-up photos going towards the 2022 QE2 Story Calendar.
The prize this month is a QE2 keyring donated by Pia, or a 500 or 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of the prizewinning photo donated by June Ingram.
Voting is easy, but you need to be registered as a Forum member and log into the Forum to vote. Whether or not you have submitted photos, please support those who have participated, by choosing your 3 favourite ones, noting the details, then tick the relevant boxes on the poll. If you have entered photos, please do not vote for your own pictures.
To make it easier for you, we have posted the pictures below. However, you can also view the photos by clicking the Gallery Album, "QE2 in exciting weather (https://www.theqe2story.com/forum/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=244)", where you can see them all at once, in thumbnail form, plus you can view larger versions of the pictures by clicking on the photos to see medium size, and clicking once more to see them in large size.
You will not see the results of the vote until the poll has closed on 1 November 2020, after all time zones have had a chance to catch up with the voting deadline.
Enjoy the variety in these photos and choose your favourites :) .
As always the choice is yours -- enjoy!

Voting is now open for the September Photo Competition "QE2 in exciting weather"
Although there are not a lot of photos entered this month, there is know doubt that the pictures captures some of the weather conditions that QE2 and her crew and passengers experienced.
Thank-you to everyone who entered photos.
-
A tricky choice despite the low number of entries this month (surprising given the theme this time!).
-
I have voted...
-
Only 6 people have voted so far :(-
As there is a smaller number of photos this month, wouldn't it be good if you had a large number of people voting!
Please vote for your three favourites and support our fabulous QE2 Photo Competition.

I wonder who took it? It is possible that we have the photographer here in the Forum, in which case he or she could indeed have entered it. I would love to know!

Hi Isabelle, I know that photo was available in the photoshop when I first joined in 1988.
I wish we could find Mike Moon who was chief photographer onboard for many years, he had an amazing
collection of photos, many of which were on display on the walls of the darkroom... :)
-
These Photographs are Stunning!
Any chance we might have a Maxi Calendar (A2!!) including each and every one?
I'm so sorry not to have been around a great deal because I have a few QE2 weather pics that might have been quite appropriate too...

If it helps to establish the photographer, this photo was taken after the 1986/7 re-engining refit as only one of the original foredeck cranes is in place, starboard side which was then removed in 1992, alongside the neighbouring vent/stand not used by the new crane added in that 1986/7 re-engining refit.
Mightn't Alan Snelson our resident ship's photographer have taken the photo or was it after his time onboard QE2?
-
Or this one...

11 voters now, and two photos together in the lead.
Looking forward to more votes for these pictures bringing lots of exciting memories!

I am going to vote, but I can't decide. How about a vote for every entry ! :)

I have just now made my selections and cast my ballot. I really do think the decisions get harder with every competition. All are fabulous photos ! :)
-
15 voters so far. Please vote for your three favourite photos if you have not already done so. There is a marvelous collection from which to choose ! :)
-
17 voters ! And two photos are now tied for first place ! Have you cast your ballot ? Will you break the tie ? Or maybe we will have two winners. There is another photo in runner up position ! This is getting very exciting ! :)
-
Still 17 voters - please do log in, check the exciting selection of photos, and cast your ballot for your three favourites. We are working toward next year's calendars already ! :)
-
18 voters and the excitement builds ! There is still time to cast your ballot for your three favourite photos ! There are still two photos tied in the lead and one runner up ! The finish line is in sight, but there is still time for the race results to change ! :) :)
-
There is still time to vote for you three favourite photos and support the competition.
Only 18 voters so far, so we could do with a few more people voting.
-
Voted! Great selection as always.
Travelled in a force 10 in 2008 and it was exciting, but don't have any photos of it. And in the North Sea on the trials in 1987 we were in a pea soup fog for a while but my photos from my childhood camera are appalling quality!
-
Half a day left to vote! We still have two equal leaders and a runner up in hot pursuit. Your vote might make all the difference :) .
