We have just received the following message from Stephen Whitehead :
It is with great regret that we are informing you and any staff that knew our beloved uncle Gordon McKay, the longest serving member of staff on the QE2, sadly he passed away peacefully with his family beside him on the 4th June 2017.
Our condolences go to Stephen, to all his family and to his friends and former colleagues.

Thank-you to Stephen for letting the forum members know that Gordon McKay had passed away. I am sure many ex QE2 crew will have known Gordon and will want to post their memories of this longest serving member of QE2 staff.
Thinking of his family and friends at this sad time.

That Gordon? I only met him on one cruise many years ago when my mother was in a cabin up there but he was a very kind, helpful and likeable person.
